Managing Director

Angus is an experienced entrepreneur and energy industry professional, with a 20-year history of building successful businesses.


Angus is the founder and former Chairman of WestSide Corporation, a Queensland gas production company. WestSide was established in 2005, listed on the ASX in 2007 and was acquired by Landbridge Group in 2014.


Angus has been involved in midstream gas processing opportunities since the late 1990's within Australasia.

Chris Dunlop

General Manager

Chris has over 35 years Oil & Gas industry experience, with 27 years working internationally across Norway, U.K., Singapore, Malaysia, Korea, Spain and Canada.


He has worked on all aspects of project development from design, fabrication and construction, commissioning, operations through to final asset transition and is experienced in both Operational & Project Management. 


Chris possesses a strong interpersonal management style, which has been effective both locally and overseas in a variety of cultures to build strong relationships.  This style ensures and maintains a solid ability and confidence to manage the workforce, client and contractor base, both efficiently and safely.

Paul Bird

Chief Financial Officer

Paul is a Chartered Accountant with over 20 years’ experience, which has been predominately within the oil and gas E&P industry.

Paul has been responsible for many facets of finance and business administration including financial control and reporting, debt & capital raising, treasury management, insurance and risk management, tax planning. Execution of corporate acquisitions and divestments including business valuations for M&A activities; and joint venture farm in/out transactions have also been a strong part of Paul’s experience.

Paul has had exposure in Australia, US, Europe, and SE Asia and has strong experience in the management of listed corporations including corporate governance practices. He has held previous roles with both national oil companies and publicly listed companies.

Mark has over 30 years Oil & Gas industry experience, with many years working internationally across Europe and Asia Pacific.


Previous role as General Manager for Jadestone Energy Australia, other roles have included Managing Director of Sona E&P Perth, Oil Assets Manager at Quadrant/Apache Energy and Senior General  Manager of Operations for Maersk, working in various Senior project and operational positions throughout the world. 


Mark has a substantial leadership and operational background in production, operations, marine, maintenance, subsea operations, drilling and projects within the Oil and Gas Industry.  Has proven abilities to achieve the strategic business goals without compromising safety or integrity, and extensive experience in delivering to achieve growth, reduce costs and strengthen performance.

Mark Robertson

Dave Gilbert

Subsurface Manager

Dave has over 35 years experience in upstream oil and gas. Prior to joining NOGA, Dave has worked in Australia and internationally (Europe, Africa and Asia), most recently for OMV and previously for Apache, Petrofina and other small E&P operators.

Dave is a geologist/geophysicist with broad experience covering, exploration, appraisal and development roles. Dave has been employed in a variety of management roles including Exploration Director and Head of Global New Ventures.

He has a track record of leading successful exploration and appraisal projects and continues to have a strong technical  understanding of the subsurface.

Ian Cashion

Commercial & Risk Manager

Ian has over 20 years of oil and gas experience across the full spectrum from engineering FEED, construction, drilling, production, operation through to final field decommissioning and has worked on unconventional and LNG projects in addition to conventional onshore and offshore assets.


With a double degree in Science and Engineering (Hons) and a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors Course, Ian specialises in HSE, risk management and corporate compliance.  


Ian has worked for Sinopec, BHP Billiton and Esso as well as small-mid tier ASX listed companies and brings that experience to deliver fit for purpose solutions to the business.

Chris Newton


Chris is a geology graduate from the University of Durham, England and holds a Graduate Diploma in Applied Finance and Investment from the Securities Institute of Australia (SIA).  Chris has had a 38-year career in oil and gas covering the spectrum of the upstream industry – from exploration, development, production and petroleum economics to strategic planning, business development and senior leadership.

After a 10 year career in Australia in the 1980’s, Chris has spent more than 26 years in senior resource industry roles in South East Asia including as Managing Director of Fletcher Challenge in Brunei and of Shell Deepwater Borneo, President of Santos’ Indonesian operations, CEO of Jakarta-listed oil and gas company EMP and co-founder / Director (BD and Operations) of Risco Energy Limited. Chris is is also currently a Director of ASX Listed Lion Energy Ltd and Tap Oil Ltd.
